F1, Las Vegas: Russell wins with Verstappen World Champion
Ferrari better than McLaren, Constructors’ World Championship open
The Las Vegas GP wins it Russell but crowns Verstappen who becomes, mathematically, World Champion for the fourth time in his incredible career. The Dutchman, who started with a 62-point lead over Norris, remains always ahead of the Briton, held back by a McLaren unable to fight with the best.
Russell, after taking pole position, also took home the GP victory at the end of a perfect race. Off to a great start, the Mercedes driver made the most of his single-seater, never giving his opponents a chance to bother him. For Mercedes, fourth victory of the season.
Tire problems for everyone, with several drivers forced to make multiple stops due to the’obvious degradation of the tires within a few laps. Applause for Hamilton, who started tenth and finished second, certifying that he still has the fire of the champion. Third place for Sainz who takes home an excellent podium (fourth his teammate Leclerc).
Disappointing race for Norris who can never find his rhythm, just like Piastri's other McLaren. Team principal Stella’s stable loses more points to Ferrari (the Cavallino è now at -25 from McLaren with two GPs still to go). The race for the Constructors’ World Championship è still wide open.
