Real Madrid in emergency, Carlo Ancelotti goes down flat
Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t mince words
On the eve of the Champions League super-match at Anfield against Livepool, Real Madrid has to deal with another heavy injury, that of Vinicius Junior, whose flexor problem will require a period of forced stop. Against the Reds, Carlo Ancelotti will therefore have neither him nor Rodrygo, in addition to Alaba, Carvajal and Militao, who have been halted for some time with their respective knee problems.
The coach from Reggiolo abandoned his characteristic calmness in the press conference to raise the issue related to too many close engagements, which he said would be the main cause of his players’ continuing physical problems: "I am not just talking about Real, the discourse è general: we play too much" he said.
"Every club handles them differently depending on the men in the squad but whether we are talking about Spain, England or other leagues the discourse è similar,” added Ancelotti. “We have to start asking ourselves whyé and to intervene so that the issue does not become even moreù heavy".
The very fact that they face two teams whose calendar is è packed with commitments, however, leads Ancelotti to be confident: "We are coming from two good wins in the league,” he explained, referring to the 4-0 win over Osasuna and the 3-0 away win against Leganes. “We are playing a lot but the same goes for Liverpool. It will be a good game, I am confident".
