Giorgio Petrosyan returns to the fight

Giorgio Petrosyan is returning to fight after six months since the last time. The kickboxing star è ready to step into the ring again against Frenchman Nasser Boungab to defend the Wako Pro world title he won last May at Milan's Allianz Cloud thanks to a clear victory over Spaniard Sergio Sanchez.

The must-see event will be staged Saturday, Nov. 30, at Monza's Opiquad Arena in the setting of PetrosyanMania Gold Edition, the event organized by his brother Armen, also a top kickboxer. The bout between Petrosyan and Boungab, which will be broadcast live worldwide on Dazn starting at 8:30 p.m., will close the program of a series of challenges that put 3 Italian and 2 world titles up for grabs.

'The Doctor' who will turn 39 next Dec. 10, will face an opponent a good 10 years younger than him. "I used to fight that I was the youngest, but now it is my opponents who are younger than me" joked Giorgio in an interview given to the podcast 'Gurulandia'.

"Technically maybe I am better, but he has nothing to lose. I, on the other hand, have everything to lose, so you have to be careful" added the multiple champion who has no intention of letting his guard down. Words that are impressive for an athlete who can boast the beauty of 106 victories out of 111 fights played.

Giorgio Petrosyan è the strongest kickboxer of all time. Born in Armenia, in 2014 è became an Italian citizen for sporting merit. A 15-time world champion, Petrosyan è was the only athlete to win two consecutive K-1 Max tournaments (2009, 2010), at the time the pinnacle of kickboxing under 70kg. A career studded with more than 100 victories, including as many as 42 consecutive, between 2007 and 2013.
