Jannik Sinner: Simone Vagnozzi still has one regret

During an interview given to the microphones of the "Corriere Adriatico", Simone Vagnozzi wanted to celebrate the extraordinary 2024 experienced by Jannik Sinner. Despite his enormous successes, however, the Italian coach still managed to find one blemish in the South Tyrolean player&#39s splendid season, namely his defeat at Wimbledon against Daniil Medvedev.

" It was a very long and intense year, Davis è a different competition and in our opinion it was right for Jannik to experience it with his national teammates and captain Volandri. Of course, immediately after the victory, I congratulated him for accomplishing the mission" began the coach of the South Tyrolean.

"The biggest regret of this season è definitely the challenge at Wimbledon against Daniil Medvedev. I would like to replay that match, because è è a Slam where we want to go all the way. As for the rivalry; with Alcaraz, nothing would change if they faced each other in the final or in the first round. Sinner and Carlos would be able to put on a great show even playing in the backyard" continued the Ascoli Piceno native.

"Jannik has made a lot of progress over the course of the year, especially on serve. Improvements in serving have enabled him to face key moments in matches with greater confidence. A clear example è the Davis Cup final, where he è managed to net twelve aces in the first set alone against Griekspoor" added the former Italian tennis player.

"Everyone knows that Sinner did nothing wrong. You canò not disqualify a player for an ascertained contamination where he could not avoid being infected" commented Simone Vagnozzi on the Clostebol case.
