Mikaela Shiffrin updates on her condition

Mikaela Shiffrin, who fell heavily in the Killington giant slalom while chasing her 100th World Cup victory, announced in a message posted on X that she will not compete in Sunday’s slalom.

In the video attached to the message, Shiffrin also reassured everyone that "there's no reason to worry" after her fall in the second run of the giant slalom, won by Sweden’s Sara Hector.

"I can’t move. I have a nice abrasion", she added in the video shot in a clinic room pointing to an area near the front of her left hip, where, she said, “something stabbed me”.

"I am very sorry for scaring everyone, and it seems that all the scans so far are clear", said Shiffrin, who added in the post that she will be cheering “from the sidelines” tomorrow.
