Carlos Alcaraz exposes himself on next target and warns Jannik Sinner
Carlos Alcaraz bets big on Australian Open
The tennis season è just ended but the gaze of the main players of the racket è already turned to the first, big event of the 2025 year, that with the Australian Open. A tournament that has Jannik Sinner as the defending men’s singles champion and that Carlos Alcaraz wants to win to close a circle at the Slam level.
"I am sure that sooner or later he will be champion at the Australian Open, maybe already in 2025" Alcaraz said bluntly, as reported by EFE Agency, during an event in New York that saw him among the guests. The Murcian said he had spent the last few days on vacation to unplug, but was now projected toward a return to the field.
Always looking ahead to 2025, Alcaraz also explained the decision to hire Pablo Carreñ'o’s former coach, Samuel Lopez, who will work with his current coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero. "They trust each other 100 percent,” he said, “and to be able to work with both of them will be great for me. I think I will grow as a player because of them".
In Australia, Alcaraz will tryà to complete his "collection" of Slam tournaments at only 21 years old: after winning the US Open in 2022 and Wimbledon in 2023, he won Roland Garros in 2024 and, for the second time, the London tournament. At the Australian Open he è never made it beyond the quarterfinals, reached in 2024 where he è was defeated by Alexander Zverev.
