Patrick Vieira holds on to the tie. And calls for time for Mario Balotelli
Patrick Vieira asks for time for Mario Balotelli
Genoa coach Patrick Vieira commented on the white-net draw with Torino in a press conference: "It was a difficult match for us but I think also for Toro. We tried to play and create some more chances but we created little. On the other side I saw a team with character and personality. There are positive aspects: defensively, as a team, we are more solid than before and this is how we move forward".
"It was very difficult at the physical level,” added the Grifone coach. We lacked a bit of support for Pinamonti because he was a bit isolated. But Toro è a very difficult team to face. I am happy with what we showed and took a point. This match tells us that there'è a lot to improve".
On Mario Balotelli, who came on at 78'in place of Pinamonti: "Like other players, like Vitinha, he needs to play. Today è got on the field 20 minutes and could have scored. He is working well, they can help the team more. He has to keep working but, like Vitinha, it still takes time".
" The most important thing è is to see how the team grows. Today I saw a solid team. On the other we wanted to play better but we didn't. We have to find ways to combine these aspects of the game and it takes time. But we are growing as a team. I want to keep working because there's still work to be done. Today we showed personality, a team that is willing to look for a win. We played with intensity and I think we are on the right track" concluded Vieira.
