Virtus Bologna wins at home of Olimpia Milano

At the end of a troubled week, culminating with the change between Luca Banchi and Dusko Ivanovic at the helm, Virtus Bologna reacted and went on to win the big-match at home of Olimpia Milano: 82-73 the score for the bianconeri.

In the first quarter Virtus è went down even by 7 points but Hackett scored the overtaking basket at the end: 24-22. In the second quarter, Segafredo took control of the game, getting as high as +7 (35-42). Milan struggled mightily on offense, a technical to Messina further favored the guests, who went to the long halftime ahead 53-42.

In the third quarter, as expected, Milan stepped up the pace. Virtus è immediately went into the bonus after three minutes and suffered a 6-0 partial. However, the reaction was not delayed: Clyburn and Shengelia dragged the team, with Zizic always decisive. Virtus touched +15 at 63-48, closing the period on 66-53.

In the last quarter, Segafredo made a few mistakes under the basket, including a resounding missed tap-in by Shengelia. Milan shortened the distance thanks to two threes by Mirotic (64-69). Shengelia, però, answered with a crucial triple and, shortly after, earned a valuable foul. The Georgian continued to be decisive, bringing the lead back to double digits with three minutes to go. Milan found no other resources to come back, and the Emilian team managed the finale closing on'82-73.
