Max Verstappen sent to Rwanda for punishment
Max Verstappen’s punishment
Max Verstappen will have to serve community service as punishment for the vulgar expression he used to describe his Red Bull during the Formula 1 Grand Prix press conference in Singapore.
Next week, the four-time world champion will in fact have to travel to the East African country of Rwanda to attend the International Federation’s award ceremony and, as part of the event organized by the Federation, he will have to participate in one of the side events.
The "socially useful work" envisaged by the sanction will consist of supporting young drivers engaged in the "Fia Affordable Cross Car built in Rwanda" program organized by the Rwanda Automobil Club.
Charles Leclerc meanwhile spoke yesterday at the end of the last Gp of the season: “I knew I had to be aggressive from the start on the first lap. I took all the risks I could to recover as much as possible and put myself in a good position. I succeeded but, objectively, we were starting too far back to have any particular dreams. Surely it hurts to close like this; such a hard-fought season. On Friday, when I heard about the penalty, è it was a hard blow. Anyway, we gave everything and we tried”.
