After a comfortable success in the Champions League with Calcit Kammik, Numia Vero Volley Milan è ready to leave for China to participate in its first ever Club World Cup. The official invitation to the top club competition, organized by the FIVB, è came through participation in the 2024 CEV Champions League final played in Antalya last May. 

Starting Tuesday, Dec. 17, the city of Hangzhou will host the prestigious competition in which eight teams from the world volleyball scene, from four continents, will participate. Lined up on the starting line are the two finalists of the last CEV Champions League Milan and Conegliano, the two Brazilian teams Gerdau Minas and Dentil Praia Clube, the Japanese NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki, the Vietnamese of Bank Ninh Binh, the Egyptians of Zamalek Sporting Club and the hosts of Tianjin Bohai Bank.

The teams have been divided into two groups of four teams, first and second place in each grouping will then advance to the knockout stage, playing semifinals and finals (both 3°/4° place and 1°/2° place).

Paola Egonu and her teammates have been placed in Pool A with Gerdau Minas, Tianjin Bohai Bank and Zamalek Sporting Club, while Pool B will be composed of Conegliano, Dentil Praia Clube, Bank Ninh Binh and NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki.

The meneghine will make their official debut on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 2:00 a.m. Italian time against the Egyptian Gerdau Minas. The next day, at 12:30 p.m., there will be a challenge with the hosts Tianjin and finally on Dec. 19, also at 12:30 p.m., there will be the last challenge of the round against Zamalek Sporting Club.

The contenders will compete on the field of the Huanglong Sports Center, an 8,000-seat arena in the center of the city of Hangzhou, 150 kilometers from the megalopolis Shanghai. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21 (the first at 8 a.m., the second at 12:30 p.m.) while the finals è scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 22 at 12:30 p.m. (preceded by the 3°/4° place final at 8 a.m.).
