Pisa knocks out Bari and warns Sassuolo
Serie B, Pisa-Bari 2-0
It ends with the score of 2-0 the challenge of the Garibaldi Arena between Pisa and Bari, which kicked off the seventeenth round of the Serie B championship. It was an important success for the Nerazzurri, who momentarily hook Sassuolo at the top of the standings with 37 points and send a clear message to the same neroverdi, ahead of the direct clash that will close the round of the season in Santo Stefano.
Decisive, for the success of the team coached by Filippo Inzaghi, the goals scored at 49' by Stefano Moreo, with a splendid heel strike on a corner beaten by Angori and subsequent header by Canestrelli, and at 68' by Gabriele Piccinini, who receives another assist from Canestrelli and fires a shot that leaves the red and white goalkeeper Radunovic petrified.
For Pisa è the second consecutive victory, eleventh overall, after last week’s win against Mantova: the Tuscan team’s period of decline, coinciding with the knockout at home to Carrarese and the draw suffered in a comeback at the Arena Garibaldi against Cosenza, from 2-0 to 2-2 with the mocking goal of the red-blù beyond the 90', seems to be behind them.
Bari, on the other hand, ends a series of consecutive useful results that had begun on Aug. 27 against Sassuolo and had led to five successes and nine draws in fourteen matches: the one suffered in Pisa è the third defeat overall in this championship, the first since last Aug. 23, when the team coached by Moreno Longo lost 2-1 at home to Modena. The “biancorossi” currently remain fourth on equal points (24) with Cremonese, who però must play their match on this day, Sunday against Cittadella.
