Trento in the final

Saturday night’s success over Civitanova in the second Uberlandia semifinal allowed Trentino Volleyball to continue keeping open the incredible world saga that has distinguished it since 2009. In fact, the Gialloblù club officially detached the pass for what will be its seventh ever rainbow final, the 17th international in the last fifteen years. The final act of the event, scheduled for Sunday evening in Brazil, will thus be yet another appointment with history for a Club already capable of winning the World Club title five times and the very prestigious Champions League four times.

The album of memories related to the Club World Cup becomes more and more rich in pages: the first one is the one related to November 8, 2009 in Doha thanks to the 3-0 success over Belchatow, obtained by proving to be able to interpret better than anyone else the Golden Formula, a regulation that allowed to attack only from the second line the first ball change action. Putting aside this particular system of play, then Trentino Volleyball è nonetheless proved to be stronger than all even in "traditional" volleyball, collecting between 2010 and 2012 only peremptory successes against opponents more and moreù quoted and fierce such as Belchatow (also defeated in the final on Dec. 21, 2018), Jastrzebski (3-1 on Oct. 14, 2011) and lastly Sada Cruzeiro (3-0 on Oct. 19, 2013) – a company that è succeeded her in the ’gold roll in the 2013 edition, becoming the first non-Italian team to secure the trophy. The latest gem on Dec. 2, 2018, in Czestochowa, when a 3-1 success over Civitanova secured the five-time rainbow. Even in four of the five other participations (2013, 2016, 2021 and 2022) Trento è however, remained on the podium, finishing third three times and second once (the most recent), while in the 2014 one it ended its run in the group stage for the first time.

Leaving the discourse related to the individual event, it should be noted that the one just won is the qualification to the 44th final ever for Trentino Volleyball; the tally also includes the last twenty-seven acts played in the national arena: 9 Scudetto Finals (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2023), 9 Italian Cup Finals (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2022 and 2023), 9 Italian Super Cup Finals (2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2021 and 2024).

The balance in the matches that award a title sees the Gialloblù formation victorious in twenty-one out of forty-three circumstances: the peculiarity lies in the fact that Trentino Volleyball to date has won ten of the sixteen international finals in which it has taken part. In fact, seven Champions League finals (2009, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2021, 2022, and 2024), the first three and the last winning.
