Federica Brignone has no doubts about Sofia Goggia

The bitter rivalry between Federica Brignone and Sofia Goggia, compared to a couple of years ago, seems to have faded and not infrequently the two national teammates have expressed sincere mutual esteem in recent months. The latest chapter in this regard, which coincides among other things with the immediate eve of the Bergamasque skier's return to competitions, è an interview Brignone gave to 'Sportweek' in which she talks among other things precisely about Sofia Goggia.

The champion from Valle d’Aosta, specifically, does not seem to have any doubts about the return of her colleague: "I have seen her skiing and for me she will come back as strong as before – she said -. And then every difficulty that you face makes you stronger: if you can overcome it you are more stable, so I have no doubt that she will come back one hundred percent and, indeed, she will be as fast as ever".

In the third and final run of the Beaver Creek downhill (held on a slightly shorter course due to bad weather), Goggia confirmed that she is in top form after her long stop, setting the best time of the session. Moreù back was Brignone, at 1"66, thoughé times are to be relatively taken into account during this type of test.

Federica Brignone and Sofia Goggia are the two most successful Italian women’s skiers: the former has won 28 World Cup victories (with the icing on the cake of the Overall Cup in 2020), one World Cup gold and 3 Olympic medals (one silver and 2 bronze); the latter, on the other hand, has won 24 times in the CdM (with 4 victories in the Downhill Cup), with one Olympic gold and one silver and two rainbow medals (one silver and one bronze).
