Not just Sofia Goggia: Beaver Creek è was also a special weekend for Lindsey Vonn, who returned to racing after a nearly six-year hiatus. The U.S. champion led the way in the downhill and super-G in Beaver Creek, and in St.Moritz she will compete as a wild card at age 40.
Sofia Goggia revealed the important role Vonn played in her triumphant weekend that saw her finish second in the downhill and win Sunday’s super-G on the American slope: "All the other girls were watching TV and I was on the phone with Lindsey and she was explaining the course, and I said, ‘Thank you’".
"I really have to thank her becauseé I trust her a lot. What è it says è the Bible", are the words reported by Oasport.
Also thanks to Lindsey Vonn’s guidance, Sofia Goggia è started very confident: "I really felt that the super-G could be mine. I skied without thinking about anything. I knew the gates, I knew my strategy and I just went down without thinking".
