Club World Cup: Conegliano wins again and is first in the round
Santarelli’s team wins third game in a row
All as expected. In the third match of the group stage, Imoco Conegliano won with a dry 3-0 against Nec Red Rockets Kawasaki, mathematically conquering the first place in the group. Match literally dominated by the Venetian women who never allowed the Japanese to try to enter the game. Excellent performances by Haak (17 points), Zhu Ting (11) and Gabi (10). Among the ranks of the opposing team, 12 points apiece from Kongyot and Nec Sato were not enough.
In each partial, Imoco Conegliano was able to make the difference in the hot moments, showing that they have all the cards to go all the way in the tournament. Coach Santarelli smiles as, match after match, he sees his team finding more and moreù fluidityà on the court.
At this point, appointment with the semifinals, scheduled for Saturday, December 21, also in Hangzhou. Clearly, the spotlight will be on the “Italian derby” between Imoco Conegliano and Numia Milano, the latter finishing second in Group A. The clash between the two Italian teams è virtually certain.
Note how the Venetian team is treated like stars in Hangzhou, the venue of the World Club Championship. In particular, Zhu Ting, one of Conegliano’s stars, è always under siege by fans who are ready for anything to take a selfie with her or get her autograph.
