Casse doesn’t concede encore: "I missed speedà"

Marco Odermatt triumphs on the Ciaslat slope and makes the downhill on the Saslong his own: è success number 40 in his World Cup career for the Swiss champion, the first won in Val Gardena. Also on the podium are Frenchman Nils Allegre and U.S. Ryan Cochran Siegle.

Fourteenth place for Mattia Casse, best of the Azzurri on the heels of his first career success in the super-G that opened the Gardena stage. Very late Dominik Paris, 25th. Christof Innerhofer 27th.

"Today we found a completely different, aggressive snow: as I was coming down I seemed to hold, I had a feeling of ease’ and maybe it lacked a little bit of speed’. The expectations were reversed: I expected a lot from the downhill and instead è came the victory in superG", are the words of Casse reported by FISI.

"It’s been a long time since I expressed myself soì in downhill, I think it’s another step forward. Now come tough races and there will be fun to be had. Odermatt è a great champion, I hope I too will soon be able to make two consecutive podiums like him here in Val Gardena".
