Paulo Fonseca, AC Milan make exoneration official
The exoneration of Paulo Fonseca è now official
All that was awaited was the officialdom of the news of Paulo Fonseca's exoneration as Milan coach: the note from the Rossoneri club was not delayed beyond Monday morning and confirms what had already emerged from various sources on the sidelines of the draw between the Rossoneri and Roma. For the Portuguese coach, the adventure at AC Milan ends here.
"AC Milan officially announces that it has relieved Paulo Fonseca from his position as coach of the men’s first team,” reads the terse statement published by the via Aldo Rossi club in the aftermath of the match played at the San Siro. The club thanks Paulo for his great professionalism and wishes him the best for the future.
Fonseca ended his experience at AC Milan, among other things, with a red card: referee Fabbri, in fact, sent him off at 43'of the first half following repeated protests over a penalty not conceded by the match director after a contact in the box between Pisilli and Reijnders. His place, until the end of the match, had been taken by Thiago Leal.
The next coach of the Rossoneri will be, as reported by several sources, Sergio Conceiçao, who after a few months of inactivity, at the close of his experience at Porto, will therefore make his debut in the Italian league. Only the official announcement of the arrival of the former player of Lazio, Parma and Inter, among others, is awaited.
