Martina Trevisan, painful withdrawal from Australian Open
Martina Trevisan will not participate in the upcoming Australian Open, scheduled from January 12 to January 26. It was announced by the Tuscan tennis player herself via a message posted on her Instagram profile.
"With great sorrow, I have to announce that I will not participate this year in the AO 2025 – wrote the blue player – Despite the excellent work and preparation with my team, the same problem that affected the second half of 2024 still does not allow me to be 100% to compete as I would like".
"È it was a difficult decision, but a necessary one to avoid compromising the season and take the right time to get back to the top. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support – I can’t wait to start this 2025 and come back even better than before!" Trevisan closed.
Trevisan, who slipped to No. 124 in the WTA rankings, will thus skip the first Slam of the season, in which she achieved the best result in 2022 and 2024, when she stopped in the second round.
