Karolus Kaarlehto to'Asiago Hockey
Migross Supermarkets Asiago Hockey has announced that it has signed 27-year-old Finnish goaltender Karolus Kaarlehto on a limited-time contract.
Given the delicate goalie situation in the Giallorossi’s house with Fazio stuck in the pits due to a muscle injury, Costantini still stuck overseas waiting for his visa and Santangelo committed in the coming days with the Italian national team at the U20 World Championship, the Venetian club has decided to bet on Kaarlehto, who has promptly given his availability and will be in Asiago already on the day.
At 186 cm tall and weighing 78 kg, Kaarlehto has significant experience in several European championships, as well as with the Finnish junior national teams. His path in professional field hockey has seen him predominantly involved in the Finnish leagues, between Liiga and Mestis, from 2016 to the present. His first experience abroad was in 2020, with some appearances in the Esbjerg Energy, in Denmark, and later with’HK 32 Liptovský Mikuláš in’Slovakian Extraliga
For the past four seasons he has played mainly in the Liiga, the top Finnish league, with additional experience in Slovakia with Dukla Michalovce, in French Ligue Magnus with Anglet, and in Swedish SHL with Timrå. This season he played two games in Liiga with Jukurit and two more in Mestis with TUTO Hockey.
