Jannik Sinner stretches over Alexander Zverev

Despite not playing, Jannik Sinner has gained 280 points over Alexander Zverev in the ATP ranking updated as of Monday, Jan. 6. In fact, the German, who withdrew before the United Cup quarterfinals due to injury, lost further ground from the world number one, who now has a lead of 4,195 points.

With just under a week to go until the Australian Open (kicking off on Sunday, Jan. 12) where Sinner will defend the title he won last year, the Italian, in his 31st consecutive week as world ranking leader, will be certain to remain at the top of the rankings even after the Australian Slam is over.

In the top 10 the only movement è that concerning Alex de Minaur, who bypasses Andrey Rublev and moves up to eighth position, putting Novak Djokovic in his sights, in seventh place, just 365 points ahead of the Australian.

As for the Italians, Lorenzo Musetti gains one position, moving up to 16th place, just 85 points behind Jack Draper, 15th. Flavio Cobolli is stable in 32nd place, while Matteo Berrettini and Matteo Arnaldi lose one position, slipping to 35th and 38th, respectively.

Finally, Luciano Darderi remains at position number 44, while Fabio Fognini and Luca Nardi gain two positions: the Ligurian climbs to 89th place, while the Marche player rises to 90th. Just outside the top 100 are Mattia Bellucci, 101st, and Franesco Passaro, 105th.
