Andy Murray also speaks out to Jannik Sinner
Murray’s words
Andy Murray è ready to start at the Australian Open his new life as Novak Djokovic’s coach: "I was enjoying retirement without even watching much tennis on TV. Playing, competing or being on the court I didn’t miss at all. I was playing golf when we first started exchanging messages",
"I was at hole #17 and the guy I was playing with asked me if I had any plans in mind. Nothing, I answered him, nothing. 'You really have no intention of trying to coach?' he then added. And I told him that I would think of nothing worse to do at that time".
"Half an hour later I was in the car and I called Djokovic and he asked me if I was interested in helping him out, something I never expected. Look, I have to talk to my family first. And so after I talked to them about it after a couple of days it started to look like a fantastic opportunity for me.".
"I think I still have a decent knowledge of the game and the players still in the business, but understanding the game and strategy have always been strengths of mine,” Murray further added.
I hope that seeing the game through Novak’s eyes can help him refine the right strategy" he concluded.
