Milan’s clean win over Cuneo, Paola Egonu and Myriam Sylla protagonists

Numia Vero Volley Milan does not concede a single set to Honda Olivero Cuneo. In the fourth day of return of Serie A1 Tigotà, the Consortium girls imposed themselves with a clear 3-0 (25-15; 25-23; 25-22) exalting the audience at the Palalido in Milan since the first balls. Orro and her teammates dominated, thanks to an aggressive start, the first partial (closed 25-15) thus forcing Cuneo to a reaction, which è came in the second fraction. In fact, the Piedmontese proved to be more combative, leading Milan to have to solve several tricky situations but to close with Sylla on 25-23. The third set again saw Numia start strong, but then suffer the overtaking of the guests, who, however, in the final were not able to be incisive and thus bring the match to the fourth set. MVP of the challenge Myriam Sylla, author of 11 points, while top scorer of the match Paola Egonu with 26 ground balls. Once again great performance on serve for the meneghine, incisive with 7 winning serves, three of them by Orro. Now continues the intense tour de force of Milan in the Championship; on Wednesday, January 15 at 20:00 the first women team of the Consortium will be at Palazzo Wanny to face Il Bisonte Firenze.

Against the Piedmontese coach Lavarini will field Orro-Egonu on the diagonal, Sylla and Daalderop pair of setters, Heyrman-Kurtagic in the center and Gelin as libero.

The Palalido of Milan immediately exults with the first two points for Numia scored by Sylla and Kurtagic (2-0). An aggressive start for Lavarini’s girls who at 6-1 forced the Cuneo bench to time-out. Upon returning to the court, the hosts have no intention of slowing down and with Kurtagic's ace they quickly reach 10-3. Shortly after, Egonu also puts down the winning serve for 13-4 and the lungolinea for +10 (16-6). Cuneo tries to get closer, but Sylla finds the 18-8. After Coach Pintus’ suspension, little changes the plot of the set with the meneghine hitting 21-10. Despite Honda Olivero nullifying two, with as many as ten set points at their disposal, Numia Vero Volley won the partial 25-15.

As in the previous set, to open the second fraction è Sylla, but this time the Piedmontese did not want to let Milan get away and kept even. Heyrman&#39s monster block on 6-4 tries to detach the meneghine for the first time in the set, but Cuneo restores the balance. It is Egonu who makes her teammates breathe with two consecutive winners and the +4 (12-8). It's more combative for Honda Olivero, who keeps a close distance in this partial, up to -1 (17-16) and suspension for coach Lavarini. Milan still tries to pull away, but Cuneo always pulls back to -1 (21-20). Before the time-out for coach Pintus, Guidi enters the court and on resumption puts down the 23-20 ace, while Egonu finds the first set point (24-22). Dodson nullifies it, but Sylla does not let the opportunity slip away and closes 25-23.

Orro’s service turn proves effective in the opening of the third set, leading Milan immediately 4-0. The Piedmontese pull back under and find parity at 6-6. On 8-10 comes the first break of the night for Cuneo, which takes the lead, while on 9-12 coach Lavarini prefers to call back his girls. Milan lets its opponents run ahead, but with Sylla on serve it regains parity (14-14). The guests always stay two lengths ahead, forcing Numia to chase (18-21). With Sylla Milan finds 21-21 and canò restart. Two consecutive monster blocks by Kurtagic put Numia ahead (23-22). Sylla's ace guarantees Milan two match points and with Egonu the challenge against Cuneo is closed (25-22).
