Briane Harris acquitted, case also bodes well for Jannik Sinner
The Case of Briane Harris
There's also a hopeful ruling regarding Jannik Sinner, who is ready to face the second round match of the Australian Open but is also and especially awaited by the closed-door hearing at the Lausanne Tas for the Clostebol case, between April 16 and 17.
It concerns Briane Harris, curling player: she had been disqualified for four years after being found positive for Ligandrol, a supplement used for testosterone production, the increase of muscle mass in spite of the reduction of fat mass.
The Canadian had defended herself by explaining that she had unintentionally come into contact with the substance and to be precise through sexual relations she had with her bodybuilder husband without the latter's disclosure of its use.
After an eleven-month suspension, the court accepted the player's argument that she proved that she had taken all possible precautions to avoid contact with substances that could contaminate her: cancelled her disqualification and acquitted in full.
