Federica Brignone: "Very important victory for my career"

Federica Brignone spoke happily to RaiSport microphones after her SuperG success in Cortina d'Ampezzo: "’ a very important weekend for my career. Today I è came exactly what I had in my head. I attacked, I felt fast, I always kept my foot on the accelerator: I had very good feelings and when I saw the lead on Suter at the finish line, I told myself it could be the right day. It was a tactical superG: there was room to let go of the skis, but also to be approached intelligently to better manage the high speed. It’s one of those days when you say… how nice!".

Brignone scored her 31st career victory: "I feel proud of what I did this weekend: how long you chase a result, getting it gives great satisfaction. I definitely wanted to be on the podium in Cortina, and these two days are really great for my career. Versatility è has always been a goal of mine, ever since I was a child, and to have won again in three different disciplines in the same winter is worth so much to me".

Brignone è leading the overall standings but for now she doesn’t think about it: "The season is going very well, but to continue I have to be able to keep skiing like this, I know it won’t be easy to do it all the time. That’s exactly why I don’t want to think about the ranking, for now; I prefer to think about every single race". 

" I can concentrate a lot and in training I ski well: reproduce things that you do so many times è easier, even if the tension of the race is felt. Having champions like Tomba, Compagnoni and Kostner è here in Cortina to follow me. They have done great things. And like Deborah and Isolde I have to thank a lot my skiman Mauro Sbardellotto: è a guarantee, he gives me incredible security".
