Alex De Minaur isn’t afraid of Jannik Sinner: "Doò something I’ve never done"

Alex De Minaur beat Alex Michelsen in three sets 6-0, 7-6(5), 6-3 qualifying for the first time in his career to the quarterfinals of his home Slam, the Australian Open. The 25-year-old tennis player, dragged by the crowd, feels great confidence ahead of the quarterfinal against Jannik Sinner.

De Minaur will have to break the curse that sees him always defeated against Azzurro, who has been able to impose himself in all 9 matches in which they have faced each other, but the 25-year-old Australian is feeling the air of home and hopes this will help him overcome the very high hurdle.

"There's nothing I want to do more than to play well here in Australia in front of you all. I am happy to have finally made it to the quarterfinals. Let us aim for bigger and better things" è the challenge he issues to Sinner.

"This is going to be a very tough match against the number one guy in the world, and he’s going to have to do something I’ve never done before. Whyé not start here?".
