John McEnroe 'unmasks' Novak Djokovic on injury
U.S. tennis legend John McEnroe'è seemed skeptical about Novak Djokovic's injury, sustained during his match against Carlos Alcaraz at the Australian Open. According to the former U.S. outfielder, Nole's problem would not be so serious: "Don't be fooled because it's not the first time we have seen this routine" are his words during commentary to Eurosport.
The Serbian tennis player actually ended his match on the upswing, winning the match against Alcaraz in four sets, but after the match in a press conference he confirmed that he is worried about the knee trouble, which reminds him of a problem he suffered in 2023.
"It's very similar to what I had a few years ago, in 2023. I didn't do tests of course. I had tests with the physical therapist when he took me off the field during the medical timeout. He bandaged me up and the doctor gave me some medicines, painkillers. They took effect after 20 to 30 minutes, and I had to take another dose at the beginning of the fourth set. Now that I am “cooling” I can start feeling different things: let’s see how it goes tomorrow and then day by day".
