Jannik Sinner: record rain after Melbourne triumph

Rain of records for Jannik Sinner after his second consecutive triumph at the Australian Open. The South Tyrolean becomes the Italian tennis player with the most majors won in his career with three wins, ahead of Nicola Pietrangeli.

Sinner also becomes the fifth player to win three or more consecutive Slams on concrete after legends Federer (5), Djokovic (3), Lendl (3) and McEnroe (3).

Sinner è the youngest person to win two Australian Opens in a row since Jim Courier and, more importantly, è the only one in history to have won 22 consecutive sets against top 10s. None had hit this record since 1990.

Sinner è to his 19th career win, the 17th on the fast surface (ahead of him among active players; only Djokovic and Medvedev.
