Bitter debut for Elisabetta Cocciaretto in Linz

WTA LInz: Rebecca Sramkova-Elisabetta Cocciaretto 7-5 7-5
It's already finished Elisabetta Cocciaretto's adventure at the WTA 500 in Linz. On the Austrian cement, in fact, the Italian tennis player è was eliminated at the debut by Slovak Rebecca Sramkova with the score of 7-5 7-5, after about two hours of play.
The match began in the best of ways for the Ancona native, who won four of the first six games. The reaction of the Slovakian rival, however, was not long in coming as she first recovered the break disadvantage then closed the score at 7-5, thanks to a tremendous five games to one.
In the second set è Cocciaretto again took an early lead by snatching serve in the opening game. Once again, however, Sramkova reacted immediately and placed the immediate counter-break. At that point, the match became much more balanced, but in the decisive stages è once again the Bratislava native rose to the fore and found the key break to win the partial and the match by a score of 7-5.
With the elimination of Elisabetta Cocciaretto, only Lucia Bronzetti remains to represent Italy in Linz. The Rimini native, in fact, will make her tournament debut in the evening session against number five seed Dajana Jastremska.
