The words of Emilio Carelli

On the sidelines of the press conference to present L'Espresso, icon of Italian journalism that this year celebrates its first 70 years, editor Emilio Carelli spoke to Sportal.it about the news between past and future, tradition and innovation.

"The future is young people, è inevitable. Our brand è strong but we need to implement cross-media journalism to bring us closer. This is not such an original strategy after all, everyone is doing it. Traditional readers will slowly be gone ".

"We carry on our line of inquiry into everything that is wrong and of great interest to young people, but we have introduced a weekly appointment on artificial intelligence. We tackle issues related to culture and entertainment but also and especially rights".

There will be space for sports as well: "C'è already been, with investigations such as the one related to Mafia infiltration in soccer fans corners, on the Olympics or on new stadiums. When sports becomes news for everyone we are there and we will be there".

Closing remark on the sportsman of the moment, Jannik Sinner: "I follow him with great enthusiasm and pleasure. He seems to me a good person who knows how to win the sympathies of the public. Is he like Valentino Rossi and Alberto Tomba? Yes, è è already at that level and I am glad that thanks to him the tennis schools are now crowded. Everything that makes young people do sports è important".
