The Serbian striker è back from three benches in a row

Dusan Vlahovic is going through a very complicated moment. In fact, he è returned from as many as three benches in a row (AC Milan, Brugge and Napoli), with not even a half-hour total on the field. Thiago Motta, against Napoli, preferred him to the newly arrived Kolo Muani, keeping him on the bench until the last minutes of the match.

Kolo Muani, having already played with PSG in the Champions League, will not be able to be fielded against Benfica (the French striker will be able to play regularly in the play-offs). At this point, barring any last-minute unforeseen events, it will be up to Dusan Vlahovic to lead the Bianconeri attack. In this Champions League, the Serbian has scored four goals in seven matches.

For Dusan Vlahovic, the match with Benfica è crucial. Obviously, he aims to redeem himself and prove to Thiago Motta that he is entitled to the role of the team’s starting central striker. He also aims to do well in order to reopen the renewal talk that, at the moment, seems on stand-by.

As is well known, Dusan Vlahovic’s contract with Juventus expires in June 2026 and, after several meetings, the classic white smoke has not yet been reached. Indeed, the feeling è that, at the end of the year, the striker may even say goodbye to the Old Lady. Should he manage to make a decisive return to the field, the situation could change radically.
