Italy beats Scotland in the Six Nations Under 20
.
Roberto Santamaria's Italy U20 team makes its debut in the Six Nations of its category by beating at Edinburgh's Hive Stadium the equal age team of Scotland 10-22.
The Azzurrini, after a suffered start, characterized by an’indiscipline that cost them ten free kicks and the goal of the Scottish lead, gradually took control of the game: after going ahead on the half-hour mark with an interception by Zanandrea, Milan and his teammates opened the restart with a goal by Beni at the end of a long assault in the Scottish twenty-two and, in the twentieth, consolidated the lead with Todaro, who finalized an inspired counter-attack by winger Ducros on a lightening kick by the hosts.
Trailing 5-19, the Highlanders tried to bring themselves back into the game with second line Duncan reducing the distance shortly after the half-hour mark, but the inertia of the match did not change, a place kick by Fasti two minutes from the end gave the Azzurrini the certainty of success and fixed the result at 10-22 with which match director Cox whistled the end of the match.
For Italy U20 è it was the fifth consecutive success against Scotland in the U20 Six Nations, achieved in front of former national team captain Sergio Parisse, in the stands alongside Federal President Andrea Duodo.
Next Friday, the Azzurrini will make their debut in front of their home crowd at the “Monigo” in Treviso, facing the equal age group of Wales.
