Atalanta-Torino 1-1

The far from exciting moment of Atalanta in the championship continues: in the match played on Saturday afternoon, with kick-off at 6 p.m., the orobici did not manage to get the better of Torino, which, on its part, was able to play a concrete test and leave the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo with an extra point in the standings and, above all, with the sixth consecutive useful result, which keeps the granata far from the dangerous zone of the ranking.

Atalanta è actually harried in the first few minutes and at 21' exulted for the goal scored by the evening's ex, Raoul Bellanova: after verification in the VAR Room, however, referee Piccinini cancelled the goal due to a hand of the same Bellanova. The Nerazzurri are also struggling with the physical problems of Kolasinac (replaced at 30' by Toloi), but in the 35th minute they go ahead: cross from the Bellanova crossbar and winning header by Djimsiti, nothing to do for Milinkovic-Savic.

Torino reacted almost immediately and in the 40th minute found the 1-1 goal: Lazaro’s cross from the outside and Maripan’s header, the ball hit the ground before getting past Rui Patricio, in his first league presence (the only one, previously, è was the match against Cesena in the Coppa Italia) between the posts of Gian Piero Gasperini’s team.

In the second half, more trouble for the Nerazzurri, with De Ketelaere leaving the field injured, giving way to Pasalic at 57', but Atalanta continued to attack and at 74' had a great opportunity to get back in front: Tameze holds Retegui in the box, the referee has no doubts in awarding the shot from the penalty spot, which the Nerazzurri striker himself misses, getting hypnotized by Milinkovic-Savic.

In the final Gasperini throws Gianluca Scamacca into the fray, in his first presence after the long injury layoff, but the result does not change. The draw serves more to Torino, which rises to 27 points and moves up to +7 from third-last place, than to Atalanta, which goes to 47 points and consolidates third place, but risks having to say goodbye to its dreams of glory in case of a win on Sunday by Napoli in Rome and Inter in the derby against Milan.
