First an Instagram story with a photo of the Milanello training ground, two Rossoneri hearts and the infinity symbol, then the words amid tears outside the gates, in front of reporters: this is how Davide Calabria&#39s very long adventure at Milan closed, an experience that began at the age of 11, in 2007, and continued throughout the youth trafile, his debut in the first team and his time as captain.

Before settling at Bologna, a club that reached an agreement to sign the 1996-class side, Calabria said, with eyes glazed over: "It's difficult, really, è like leaving a wife. I will miss everything – then added the now former Rossoneri – but I am really happy with what I have experienced here, all these years".

Calabria, with AC Milan, won a Giovanissimi Nazionali championship (2010), a Viareggio Tournament (2014), a Scudetto (2022) and two Italian Super Cups (2016 and 2024, the latter lifted in front of the Riyadh audience in early January 2025): "I will forever carry all these memories with me" he said, barely holding back tears.

"I can only be grateful for what I got from Milan,” Calabria then concluded. “They were a bit difficult days but I will love these colors forever. Now è time to start a new chapter, I wish the best to everyone". Calabria had made his debut in Serie A, with AC Milan, in the 2014-2015 season; in 2022 he became its captain, a role he has maintained even in these last months, despite having fallen in the hierarchies first to Paulo Fonseca and then to Sergio Conceicao.
