Bad injury for Filip Stankovic
Venezia has to deal with an injury that, at least on the surface, è immediately seemed rather serious, that of Filip Stankovic during the first half of the match played Saturday afternoon at home to Udinese. The Serbian goalkeeper, struggling with a goal kick on 16'suddenly slumped to the ground, complaining of severe pain in the knee.
Immediately rescued by the medical staff of the Laguna players, who applied a conspicuous bandage on his left knee, Stankovic è was forced to leave the field to his replacement, Jesse Joronen, whose last presence dated back to last Oct. 4 (2-1 defeat at home of Hellas Verona).
Class of 2002, Filip Stankovic è son of Dejan Stankovic, former Red Star, Lazio and Inter Milan player and current Spartak Moscow coach. Although he was born in Rome (at the time when dadà Dejan played for Lazio) and grew up footballing in Inter, Filip Stankovic chose the Serbian national team, with which he collected several appearances in youth selections.
The goalkeeper è is still under contract with Inter, which sent him on loan to Volendam, Netherlands, from 2021 to 2023, before giving him experience in Italy at Sampdoria in the 2023-2024 season and this year at Venezia, a club with which he played just this season his first matches in Serie A.
