Newcastle-Arsenal, the probable formations

On Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 9 p.m., Arteta's Arsenal faces Newcastle in the EFL Cup semifinal return, with the Gunners needing to overturn the 0-2 loss they suffered in the first leg at Emirates Stadium. After elimination in the FA Cup, Arsenal has found rhythm with five wins and a draw, while Newcastle, after an excellent run, has picked up only one win in the last three league games.

Eddie Howe is expected to confirm his tried-and-tested 4-3-3. The midfield will feature Sandro Tonali, Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes. The defense will see Burn, Schar as central midfielders and Hall and Trippier as full-backs. In attack, room for the trident formed by Isak, Gordon and Murphy

Arteta, for his part, will have to cope with several absences both up front and in the backline. On the offensive end, it will be Havertz’s turn again to fill the role of false nueve, supported by Martinelli and Trossard. Protecting Raya, there will be Saliba and Gabriel, with Timber and Calafiori on the side lanes.
