Updates on Jorge Martin’s condition

It's come straight from Malaysia the update on the condition of Jorge Martin, who was forced to be hospitalized after a bad crash during MotoGp testing in Sepang. CT and MRI scans ruled out major injuries, but tests found a fracture in the fifth metacarpal of his right hand and three microfractures in the third, fourth and fifth metatarsals of his left foot.

The world champion thus starts his 2025 season uphill, a season in which he will have the number 1 on the fairing of his new bike, the Aprilia. The Spaniard will spend the night in the hospital, then take, with all the necessary precautions, a flight back to Europe, where he will go under the knife for operations on his hand and foot.

Martin will have; less than a month to regain condition and get back on the bike for the first Grand Prix of the season, the one scheduled in Thailand with Sprint Race on March 1° and long race twenty-four hours later. The former Ducati will clearly skip the rest of the tests in Malaysia and 99 percent those in Thailand in mid-February.

This is bad news for Aprilia itself, which has been betting heavily this season on 'Martinator' to try to interrupt Ducati's hegemony that has lasted since 2022, with the two consecutive titles won by Pecco Bagnaia and the one won last season by Jorge Martin himself.
