A goal in favor of nature

When a goal helps the environment and unites sports, the environment and social responsibility. On the occasion of the Benedetto Piras Trophy, the first eco-sustainable tournament in Italy è a goal was reached: planting 5 trees for every goal scored by the Representatives.

È was presented today, at the Sala Teatro dell’ex Pontificio Seminario Regionale in Cuglieri (Oristano), the “Un gol per la natura” initiative, promoted by the LND Regional Committee of Sardinia in collaboration with the CSR Area of the National Amateur League and the Forestas Regional Agency.

The path guiding the initiative includes the donation of 250 plants to the municipality of Cuglieri as a concrete gesture of social commitment to contribute to the rebirth of the territory of Montiferru, affected by the fires.

Opening the proceedings was the president of CR Sardegna and LND vice-president, Gianni Cadoni, who expressed his closeness to the population affected by the fires and then thanked the many schools present, emphasizing how soccer can be a tool at the service of the community.

Gian Piero Pinna, CR Sardegna councilor, Luca De Simoni, coordinator of the Social Responsibility Area of the Amateur League, Andrea Loche, mayor of Cuglieri, Maurizio Mallocci, director of Forestas, also participated.

"The Social Responsibility Area of the LND, born 2 years ago- explained Luca De Simoni- aims to enhance soccer also as a tool for growth and inclusion. Sardinia è often the forerunner in valuable projects like this one that can become a model for other territories."
