Lucia Bronzetti in Final at Transylvania Open

For the fourth time in her career, Lucia Bronzetti reaches the final of a WTA main circuit tournament (the statistic does not take into account two other finals, played at the WTA 125 level): the tennis player from Romagna took advantage of the withdrawal, during the fifth game of the first set, of Katerina Siniakova, her opponent in the semifinals, and will therefore play the final act of the Transylvania Open in Clu-Napoca.

In fact, the two players remained on the court just over a quarter of an hour, with Bronzetti easily winning all four games played. Siniakova, who entered the court with a rather conspicuous bandage on her right leg, finally raised the white flag shortly before she also succumbed in the fifth game.

Awaiting Lucia Bronzetti in the tournament final will be world number 32 Anastasia Potapova: the Russian tennis player defeated Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich in her semifinal match in two sets, 6-3, 7-5, closing the match in one hour and thirty-three minutes and in turn reaching final number six in her career at the main professional circuit level.

Lucia Bronzetti has not won a WTA tournament (250 and up) in almost two years: her first and only success è in fact came in May 2023, when the 1998-born athlete won the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem in Rabat, Morocco, beating Austrian Julia Grabher 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 in the final.
