There were even more than 1.3 million viewers who watched on Rai Due on Thursday, February 13, the feat of Federica Brignone, the new women’s giant slalom world champion.

The exploits of the Valle d’Aosta woman in the second run achieved a share of 10.38%., this means that more than one television set out of the ten turned on in the lunch hour were tuned to the race in Saalbach, while the first run (also on Rai Due) had reached an audience of 259 thousand viewers for 5.38%.

Saturday’s program of the rainbow event includes the last women’s race, the slalom, which will be contested by Martina Peterlini, Marta Rossetti, Lara Della Mea and Giorgia Collomb. The first heat è scheduled at 09:45 a.m., the second at 1:15 p.m. “Tuesdayì I competed in the team combined with fever but my condition in these days has improved – explains Peterlini -, I show up at the gate with the conviction to play my cards”.

Rossetti also broke the ice in the’unprecedented rainbow competition, taking eighth place with Nicol Delago. “I have nothing to lose – explained the Brescian -, I will come out of the gate to have fun, we will see what I can do”. Lara Della Mea, gold in the team parallel, will be at her third race on the Austrian track: “I gave up the second run of the giant in order to conserve energy for this race – comments the Friulian -, I hope for a good placing as I succeeded– two years ago in Meribel”. Finally Collomb, also back from the gold in the parallel team: “I am at my first experience in a MOndial, I hope to learn as many things as possible. And then I’ll have my parents and sister here to cheer”.
