Lorenzo Musetti, calf injury: it’s withdrawal to Buenos Aires

The semifinal fades for the most bitter of reasons.

Lorenzo Musetti officially exits the ATP 250 tournament in Buenos Aires, just hours after his victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet. In fact, the Carrarese player è was forced to retire by a right calf injury. The goal of a semifinal on Argentine clay thus fades, with his missed opponent Pedro Martinez advancing directly to the round.

Providing further clarity on his physical condition was Musetti himself, via a message released to the official channels of the Buenos Aires tournament. "Yesterday for me è was a difficult match, and I suffered an injury to the soleus in my right leg. Now I need rest and to recover soon my form".

It had been a peremptory victory for Musetti over Corentin Moutet in the round of 16: a 6-2, 6-3 that matured in just over an hour and a half of play and in which especially in the first set the Tuscan tennis player had taken very few risks.

Particularly at the beginning of the second set, however, he had reported a few more difficulties, with the explanation that è arrived in the meantime. The muscle injury, forcing Musetti to leave Buenos Aires without ever having lost.
