Milan and Paola Egonu turn the page in the derby

Return within the walls of home for the Numia Vero Volley Milano which, after the Italian Cup weekend and the away challenge against Conegliano, è ready to re-embrace its public. Sunday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. (live DAZN and VBTV), Lavarini’s girls in fact will face at the Allianz Cloud in Milan the formation of Bergamo in the tenth day of return of Serie A1 Tigotà.

It was a match that reopened the meneghine’s race for second place in the standings; after failing to win in the midweek round against the Panthers at Palaverde, Orro and her teammates slipped back to third place, but only one length behind Scandicci. Bergamo, on the other hand, è back from an unlucky period and è looking for success, after defeats against Chieri, Pinerolo and Scandicci. 

There are eight previous meetings between the two teams, with seven wins for Milan against only one for Bergamo. In the first leg, the trip to Treviglio had smiled in four sets to the Milanese, authors of an excellent performance especially in the wall; MVP of the match Myriam Sylla, who wore the Bergamo jersey in her sports career. Other familiar faces of the challenge coach Lavarini, on the Bergamo bench for six seasons, and coach Carlo Parisi, at the helm of Milan in 2019/2020.

For the’80° A1 Series Championship Tigotà Bergamo will be at the starting lineup with a completely renewed roster. It starts from the bench with the’arrival of coach Carlo Parisi from Florence, who brings with himé Cuban setter Cese Montalvo. In the director’s box arrives the American Evans, at her first experience in the Italian championship, and Carraro. Among the female setters, Serie A1 debut for captain Mlejnkova, flanked by Italians Piani, Adriano and Bolzonetti. At center, German Strubbe arrives from Stuttgart, along with young Manfredini and Farina. The libero department speaks Italian with Armini and Mistretta. Promoted from the nursery are libero Spampatti and center Crevenna.
