Gian Piero Gasperini explains Atalanta’s difficulties

Only one win in the last six for Atalanta
It is certainly not an easy period, the one that Atalanta is facing in Italy and in Europe: in the last six matches played, in fact, only one success came, against Verona, against three draws and two defeats. Saturday’s draw against Cagliari also showed some of the limitations of this team in this period: Gian Piero Gasperini, at the microphones of 'Dazn' spoke openly about it.
"At this stage of the season we are struggling a bit in attack,” said the Orobici coach. “We are struggling to win games like this, playing at home and largely dominating. The absentees? At the end we were missing Lookman and Kolasinac, that is not è the problem. We struggle to concretize but I am convinced that the situation will improve ".
Asked if Dea has definitively lost momentum for the Scudetto fight, Gasperini replied firmly: "We still believe in it, we have to start winning again and we have the potential to finish the return leg in the best way. We will do everything to fight until the end".
Atalanta will be back on the pitch on Tuesday, Feb. 18 in the Champions League, in the return leg of the playoff against Club Bruges: in the first leg it ended 2-1 for the Belgians, who were able to win in the middle of the second half with a disputed penalty kick. It will need a success with a one-goal difference to take the match to extra time, with two or more goals separating them Atalanta goes through. A draw or another defeat would mark the final elimination.
