World Ski Championships: special slalom to Camille Rast, Lara Della Mea first azzurra but not enough for top 10

Thirty-four years after the last rainbow success in the specialty, Switzerland returns to celebrate the victory of one of its athletes in the women’s special slalom of the Alpine Ski World Championships. In Saalbach è Camille Rast to give the Confederation the gold medal, completing the two runs in 1:58.00.
The Crusader flag also flies on the podium at the height of the runner-up, Wendy Holdener, who was 46 hundredths behind her compatriot in the two fractions. The bronze medal, however, went to Austria, with Katharina Liensberger completing the two courses with an overall time 1"32 slower than that of Rast.
The first of the Italians è Lara Della Mea, thirteenth and able to recover six positions compared to the first run: "Today I did what I could – she confided at the finish -, getting into the fifteen è a good result. I fell asleep to the pace in the first part, but then I managed to be moreù effective".
Marta Rossetti, eleventh after the first leg, paid for a mistake in the second and è finished fifteenth, while Giorgia Collomb and Martina Peterlini finished twenty-first and twenty-second respectively, the former after recovering four positions from the opening heat.
