Lorenzo Sonego sides with Jannik Sinner

During an interview given to the microphones of "La Repubblica", Lorenzo Sonego also wanted to give his opinion on the three-month disqualification of Jannik Sinner in the Clostebol case.

"In my opinion he was right to accept the settlement. Unfortunately, the length of trials and waiting for sentences for these cases are too long and not suitable for a sport like tennis. I wonder how he was able to play at this level with all these thoughts in his head. He's really been a phenomenon" began the Piedmontese tennis player.

"I think in general certain judgments echo much more than praise. I’m sure that most tennis players are on Jannik’s side, becauseé they know very well that exactly the same thing could happen to them tomorrow. Among us players there are also true friendships. Jannik and I have a good relationship and he will always be able to count on me. I will be more than happy to train with him as soon as he finishes his stop" added the Turin native.

"I think Sinner will come back stronger than before. He loves tennis and being forced to stay away from competition will only increase his desire to play. In my opinion we will find him even moreù solid and strong than before" Lorenzo Sonego commented.
