Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton surprised by Charles Leclerc

Lewis Hamilton the day after shooting at Fiorano spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport: "I have worked in the past with two teams that have won world championships and I know how a winning team feels. Everyone in Ferrari has a very calm approach but no one thinks: “We are perfect”. They all reason by saying “we still have to improve”. And they don’t leave anything to chance". 

"È too early to know what the’year will be like. What we do know è that it will be a very tight season between top teams. I’m adapting to a new way of working and I want to get really ready for the first race but obviously we haven’t been on track with the other single-seaters yet so we don’t know the level of our opponents". 

Chapter Charles Leclerc: "We have a very good relationship and I consider him a very strong driver. I said it in Bahrain many years ago now: he has a bright future ahead of himé. Charles is only 27 years old but è very mature for his age, probably more mature than I was at 27. We will work together to make sure the team moves in the right direction".

Filling in on the world title: "No, for me it’s not è about winning the’eighth. For me this would be the first one: winning the first World Championship with Ferrari. It is about entering the history of this team trying to win the first success with them".
