The words of Materazzi

Marco Materazzi è was the protagonist of "Storie di Serie A" on Radio-TV Serie A with RDS: "L'Inter? Definitely not è it was love at first sight forò almost. The first year I arrived there was almost half a revolution because I arrived in Milan after a derby lost 6-0, I had my medical checkup the very next day, but I was enlightened when I entered CONI for the fitness checkup and found Ronaldo. He was my idol and I thanked him because he was one of the reasons why I signed for Inter'Inter&#39quot;.

"There were also others who were interested forò from a future perspective I wanted Inter which was the team that sooner or later would come back to win. From January I focused on Perugia as I always did forò also thinking about Inter becauseé my goal was to try to win trophies. Which did not happen the first year because of us, becauseé the last game we made a mistake, forò we played another 37 games where I was almost always on the field. I couldn&#39t and we clearly couldn&#39t do anything, but then in light of whatè occurred we all know how things".

"When they tell me about the lost Scudetto in 2001 I answer that I would trade it for two/three others that I won becauseé it would have been the one really of the group, we were absolutely no longer strong, almost the whole squad had been changed, Conceicao, Toldo, myself and a lot of people on whom no one would have bet a penny arrived. At the end of the year we probably would have deserved that Scudetto but we lost it in an absurd way, forò è soccer and all of us didn&#39t know if after that May 5 we would ever have the opportunity to be able to win a Scudetto or raise a Cup".

Saying goodbye: "I did not say goodbye to Inter in 2010. They told me that on my part there was too much aspiration to play on Sundays. I clarified with everyone, with Ausilio and Leonardo, but at the time I called the latter and told him: “Look if I have to come to the Pinetina without the aspiration of being able to play on Sundays I stay home with my children because it doesn&#39t make sense”. Probably in those years I can say very honestly that something was missing and talking to my teammates in training there was no longer that desire to be able to win even the one game, but it was a go to the field, do training and then go home. For a team I think that is the most detrimental thing that can happen".
