Marco Bortolami announces farewell to Benetton Treviso

Benetton Rugby and head coach Marco Bortolami have announced that they have decided to terminate early the contract that bound the parties until June 30, 2026. Bortolami will therefore remain at the helm of the Lions until the end of the current sports season.
The decision è was made with the utmost agreement between the parties, considering this the most opportune choice with a view to ensuring the best development of the club’s sports project and at the same time offering the’coach new opportunities for his professional career.
Bortolami è arrived at Benetton Rugby in the summer of 2016, chosen as assistant coach with delegation to forwards and lineout to be part of Crowley’s technical staff. Since July 2021 è instead leading the green-and-whites in the role of head coach.
President Amerino Zatta said: "On behalf of the whole club I would like to thank Marco for the work he has done, the professionalismà and the’commitment he has shown during his 9 seasons in Benetton Rugby, as an assistant before and as head coach after. Bortolami has made an important contribution to the growth of the club and of many promising young players who have become genuine certainties for the club and the national team.” The President went on to say, “While waiting to communicate the definition of the technical staff, our focus remains firmly on the immediate goals. We are in the midst of the United Rugby Championship playoffs and have before us the historic opportunity to play in the round of 16 of the Champions Cup. At the same time, we are already looking to the future with great ambition: we want to continue building a solid and competitive project, capable of consolidating our presence at the highest level and giving new satisfaction to our fans.”
Marco Bortolami said: "I thank the companyé as well as every athlete, staff member and, last but not least, the staff all who daily gave their best to achieve the important goals of these years. I think of the Rainbow Cup victory, the historic round passes in the URC and European Cup and, above all, the prestigious access to the Champions Cup round of 16 that will see us engaged in a few weeks. Only the’commitment and dedication of everyone made it possible to achieve such ambitious results and for this I am grateful to everyone".
