MotoGp, official: Aprilia in Thailand without Jorge Martin, no surprises on name of replacement

Jorge Martin needs surgery, date of return remains uncertain
Late Monday afternoon, Aprilia Racing officially confirmed what had begun to be leaked in the previous hours: Jorge Martin è got an injury such as to require a new surgery (after the one following the bad fall during the Sepang test) and will be à therefore forced to skip the first MotoGp race weekend, this weekend in Thailand.
"Jorge Martin sustained, during a training session, a complex fracture of the radius, some carpal bones and an ipsilateral calcaneal fracture of the left hand,” reads the Noale manufacturer’s statement. After a surgical consultation, it was decided to proceed with the’surgery that will be performed tomorrow at the Dexeus Clinic in Barcelona to stabilize the fractures of the radius and left scaphoid".
"Martin will miss the Thai Grand Prix; recovery time will be determined after the surgery. In his place in Thailand will ride Lorenzo Savadori" then announced the racing team of the House of Noale, which to replace the Spanish rider relies on the test rider of the RS-GP 2025, without therefore resorting to surprise names to flank the'other rider of the official team, Marco Bezzecchi.
Jorge Martin will therefore not be able to begin the defense of the world title he won in 2024 until he recovers from injury: already the absence in the first race is rather heavy, given that up for grabs are the 12 points for success in the Sprint Race and the 25 awarded instead to whoever wins the Sunday Grand Prix.
