Morbidelli gets off to a strong start

The Thai Grand Prix weekend starts on the right foot for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. In the 2025 MotoGP season opener, Franco Morbidelli clinches the direct Q2 with the fifth fastest time in practice and Fabio Di Giannantonio completes a solid day in 15th position on his return after his collarbone injury.

Morbidelli proved to be fast right from the start and ended FP1 with the second fastest time, 158 thousandths off the Thai morning’s best. Franco è was fast all day, always staying in the top 5 and finished the Trials in fifth position. With a time of 1’29”306 he improved his FP1 time and also showed a good race pace.

“È it was a positive first day here in Buriram because we have already improved the race pace compared to testing,” said Morbidelli. “There’è something to improve in some areas, but overall the day è was good. I feel better in general with the bike, we started well and I am happy. In the second time attack I couldn’t do a good lap because of the yellow flags, but what I did è was enough to be fifth. I am confident both for qualifying, where we want to fight for a place on the front row, and for the Sprint tomorrow”.
