The race direction gave an explanation to Pecco Bagnaia

It is certainly not the face of happiness that of Pecco Bagnaia on the sidelines of Friday’s time trials at the Buriram circuit, ede of the Thai Grand Prix, the first round of the MotoGp 2025 season. It's mainly a yellow flag displayed by mistake that caused the annoyance of the two-time champion of the queen class, who certainly did not send them to the microphones of 'Sky Sport'.

"They put out yellow flags from Turn 3 to Turn 9 by mistake. Nothing had happened – Pecco commented -. Then they told me that in any case the time had to be cancelled anyway. Not è correct, we also talked about it in the safety committee, with the other drivers. And it isn’t è the first time this has happened. I am more angry about this than about what happened with Morbidelli shortly after".

MotoGp race management, whose head è Mike Webb, responded to the words of the Piedmontese, apologizing for what happened but confirming the decision by regulation: "The yellow flag è was shown at the moment Bagnaia was running his flying lap. It è was a human error, we are unhappy about what happened and the effect it had on Pecco" weekend.

"Unfortunately, Bagnaia’s was the fastest lap of his session,” Webb added.

If a rider goes through a yellow flag, his lap time is cancelled, beyond whether it is a sector where an accident happens. We cannot readmit the time set by a rider who saw the yellow flag, but we can, and intend to, apologize to Bagnaia and the Ducati Lenovo Team for the human error".
